Eyelid Lift (Blepharoplasty)
What is an Eyelid Lift?
This procedure removes excess skin, muscle, or fat in the eyelid, helping to correct tired-looking eyes, hooding, bags, and create a more youthful eye appearance.
Am I an Ideal Candidate for an Eyelid Lift?
Generally healthy, without eye-related issues or visual issues.
What is the Recovery Period Like?
Approximately 1 week of downtime, full recovery and results within 2 weeks. This procedure is often combined with a facelift or body or nose procedure, and takes 1 hour or less to perform.
Nose Job (Rhinoplasty)
What is a Rhinoplasty?
Rhinoplasty is performed to reshape and restructure the nose in order to create an aesthetic shape and/or improve breathing.
Am I a Good Candidate for Rhinoplasty?
Some patients may have a nose feature which persistently draws attention to it, thus causing distress. Rhinoplasty is also perfect for anyone looking to correct a nasal deformity due to trauma or looking to correct issues with breathing. Candidates should be able to undergo general anesthesia and have realistic expectations about their nose after surgery.
Describe the Procedure
An incision is made inside or outside the nose within a natural crease such as where the nose meets the lip. Cartilage, bone, and/or fat are removed, the bones and/or septum and cartilage are reshaped to improve symmetry, create an aesthetic appearance, and improve airway function.absorb suture, splint, and packings are removed at 1 week, six weeks no contact sports, 1 week no nose blowing, most resault will be seen at 1 month, nose continues to remodel and improve in swelling from 6 mo to 1 year.
What is the Recovery Period/Expected Results Like?
Absorbable sutures are used, and the splint/packings are removed at 1 week. No nose-blowing for 1 week, and no contact sports for 6 weeks. The majority of results will be seen at 1 month, but the noise continues to remodel and improve with reduced swelling from 6 months – 1 year.
Face Lift
What is a Face Lift
This surgery is typically popular amongst patients in their 40’s-50’s or later, it removes excess skin and lifts up the deep tissues of the face to create a beautiful and youthful appearance. Face lifts address smile lines, creases around the mouth, lift a sagging face and reverse the effects of aging.
Am I a Good Candidate for a Face Lift?
This is a great procedure for anyone looking to eliminate excess loose skin and create a younger appearance. The face lift can provide 10-12 years of aging reversal. Ideal candidates are generally healthy, non-smokers, and are able to undergo general anesthesia.
Describe the Procedure
A hairline incision is made at the sideburn or behind the ear, extra skin behind the ear and along the back portion of the neck is removed. Absorbable sutures lift the deep tissues of the face and the skin is closed at the scalp and behind the ear. The incision hides very well in the hair.
What is the Recovery Period Like? Results Expectations?
Expect significant improvement in wrinkles and resting lines on the face along the cheek, lower face, mouth. Expect a more aesthetic look of the neck and jaw, and added fullness in the cheeks, particularly if combined with fat grafting (recommended). 1-2 weeks of major swelling and numbness typically resolves within 1 month, leaving no marks behind and full results seen at 3 months.
Additional Procedures of the Face
Neck Lift
This procedure sculpts the neck and creates an aesthetic, acute angle between the jaw and the neck. It can be combined with a face lift or alone with incisions behind the chin and ears to remove extra skin and bring together and tighten the muscle under the neck (counteracting the “turkey neck”). Great for both young and older patients. Recovery period of approximately 2 weeks, with final results seen in about 1 month.
Buccal Fat Reduction
Excess cheek fat is removed for a reduction in the overall cheek size. Procedure can be done safely under local anesthetic and leaving behind no external scars. A great procedure for anyone wanting to thin/lessen chubby cheeks. Performed wide awake and procedure duration is about 20-30 minutes. anyone who can tolerate being wide awake for a procedure for about 20-30 minutes. 1-2 weeks of major swelling/bruising, with final recovery within 1 month.
Ear Reduction (Otoplasty)
Reshaping of the ear to improve appearance. Great procedure for patients wishing to address large ear size, ears with an unfavorable shape, prominent orientation (stick out), or prior traumatic injury. Recovery period requires no contact sports for 1 month. Pain and swelling subside in approximately 2 weeks, final recovery is seen at 3 months.
Brow Lift
Similar to an eye lift, good for fixing drooping brows and low-set heavy brows. Incision is made directly above brow through the eyelid or in hairline, and scar hides extremely well. Procedure duration is approximately 30 minutes and results in an overall improvement of forehead aesthetics. Recovery period is 2 weeks for major swelling/bruising to subside, with final results seen in 2-3 months.
Chin Augmentation
Creates an increased volume or structure of the chin, helping patients with a soft chin or poorly-defined or round chin achieve balance with the rest of their face. Adds necessary definition for an overall aesthetic appearance of the face. An incision is made under the chin, through which an implant can be placed or the chin bone can be moved forward to create additional projection. Patients can expect to have soreness and swelling in their lower face for approximately 2 weeks, and in some cases, numbness in the jaw for up to 6 weeks.
Chin Reduction
Creates a decreased volume or structure of the chin, helping patients with larger or overly prominent chin achieve balance with the rest of their face. Corrects chin proportion for an overall aesthetic appearance of the face. Similar recovery to Chin Augmentation.
Hairline modification
This surgical procedure is used to lower the hairline. An incision is made in the scalp and excess skin in the forehead is removed in a linear fashion, allowing the hairline to be brought down towards the brow. Candidates should be healthy, non-smokers, and willing to accept a small scar in the hairline (generally well-hidden.) Recovery includes swelling, bruising, and a change in sensation for the first 2 weeks, and most swelling subsides within 1 month.
